Auto color assigned to an event that is used frequently
On my old calendar app I could use Auto Colors, and if I added an event that had the word "work" in the title, it would auto color that event to the color I chose for work. Ex: any event that had "School" in the title would show up as bright blue. This way I could easily spot days my kids were out of school

Why don't you categorize events? Make several calendars, like school, work, home. Set different color for each calendar. And choose calendar when you create new event.
