To be able to add people's birthday's without syncing with Facebook or adding them to your contact list. For example, I have cousins or friends kids who do not have own phones, so to enter them in my phone book would be such a hassle and will just cluster my contact list. I would rather have a whole event for birthdays where I could type in how old they are going to be, their star signs etc...
