Sync notes between iPhone and iPad doesn't work

calendars sync but notes do not.
I have an iPad and an iPhone on iOS 9.
I am still using standard iCloud. I have not enabled iCloud Drive.
Do I have to enable iCloud Drive to make notes to sync across devices?

Upgraded to iPhone 6 today. Calendar carried over but not the notes. Ugggg

I don't think it's a problem with this app, it's an iCloud problem. I had the same problem with other apps and notes. iCloud has been having issues for a while now

I agree, I have an iPhone 4 and as soon as I try to sync (or enable iCloud rather) it shuts down the app instead... Please fix this! I've tried to re-download the app but that doesn't hela either. Thank you!!

Yes! Sync notes!!! Frustrating to be missing notes on one device that are on another!!! This is important as I don't carry both devices everywhere

This used to work. Please fix this important sync option. Maybe use Dropbox to facilitate.
